About EllaDee's daleleelife101.blog

After a decade of living in tiny apartments in the inner-city of Sydney, Australia with my husband referred to in my posts as the Gorgeous One (G.O.) while I worked in corporate-legal and the G.O. in civil earthworks we relocated 500 kilometres north in December 2015 to our home in the Nambucca Valley to follow our dream of living simply and creatively. We travelled around Australia in 2016. Now we work on our 1930’s house, have a vegetable garden and a dog plus share a flock of backyard chickens with our neighbour. These days I’m a Horticulture student, something I dreamed of doing for many years. I write about day-to-day life, past & present, people & places, and take snapshots with my smart phone. • Thank you. I like the faces. We walk past that corner quite regularly but I never noticed the wall before, and the G.O. said neither had he… must walk around with our eyes shut sometimes 🙂

  1. Street art is really getting good, I love the way we distinguish it from graffiti. I love seeing it, especially when a lot of care and attention has been done to create it. I don’t like tags though.

    • Thank you. I agree about the graffitied tags that are randomly sprayed over the street art. Newtown and surrounds are great street art galleries. I don’t mind the paste ups, they are art in themselves, I think or fun, and often making a social comment 🙂

  2. EllaDee, I agree street art really enlivens urban streetscapes. Imagine how boring that wall would be without the art. I also get annoyed by the tags mindlessly sprayed over the art – no respect for the artists and their work.

    • Thank you. Yes, the street art adds a personal touch to brick, concrete etc, and I hate it when a good piece is tagged or worse painted over all nice and neat 🙂
